A Decade Wait Ends: Sebastian Bach Returns with 'What Do I Got to Lose?'

Sebastian Bach, the legendary former Skid Row frontman, has unleashed his first solo single in nearly a decade, “What Do I Got to Lose?” The track’s release is perfectly timed, riding the wave of Bach’s recent unmasking as the Tiki character on “The Masked Singer” and reasserting his presence in the public eye.

Crafted alongside Myles Kennedy (known for his work with Slash and Alter Bridge) and producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette (associated with Slash and Mammoth WVH), the track is a hard-hitting return to form for Bach. A proper throwback to his 80’s hair metal heyday, the guitars are in-your-face, and the chorus you’ll find is very easy to sing along to.

Bach’s assertive and energetic approach to the song is clear in his own words, describing it as “an anthem for coming back and crushing it. It’s time to lay down the law and put the hammer down old-school style”​.

The song also heralds a much-anticipated new album slated for release in 2024, marking it as Bach’s first full album since his 2014 effort, “Give ‘Em Hell.” Fans can also look forward to Bach hitting the road in 2024 for a mix of solo gigs and festival appearances, including stops in Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, and multiple locations in the United States​.

If this release is indicative of the upcoming album, it seems we have a lot to look forward to! On a personal note, I have always admired Bach’s commitment to Rock & Roll and what the genre means to him. He is fifty-five years old at the time of writing this article, certainly not an ‘Old Timer,’ but he’s also no spring chicken.
